It is a not only suicide. It's a murder!

SECONDHAND SMOKE is combination of the smoke given off by a burning tobacco product and the smoke exhaled by a smoker. SECONDHAND SMOKE is also known as passive smoke or involuntary smoke. Inhaling this is called passive smoking or secondhand smoking. People can be exposed to SECONDHAND SMOKE in home, car, the workplace and public places.

More than 7000 chemicals have been identified in SECONDHAND SMOKE, 250 of that are very harmful for human health and 69 of which cause cancer.

A doctor at told, 'a lady is going to die in 3 months because of cancer. Guess, what was the cause? SECONDHAND SMOKE. She told that the patient’s father was a lawyer and wanted her daughter to become a lawyer too. She did become a good lawyer. Both of them spent lot of time together in car, in court and at home, of course. ‘We think, that father’s tobacco smoke is responsible for her death,’ the doctor said. How sad it is?!
It is guessed that the cause of Steve Jobs’s death was also SECONDHAND SMOKE. In Steve’s childhood, both his parents used to smoke at home and in car. Both died because of cancer and then the same smoke killed the legend at Apple.

It causes multiple diseases and premature death in nonsmoking people. Exposure to SECONDHAND SMOKE has immediate harmful effects on a person’s heart and blood vessels. It may increase the risk of heart disease by 30 percent and causes other serious cardio vascular and respiratory diseases.
Children exposed to SECONDHAND SMOKE are at increased risk of sudden infant death syndrome, ear infections, colds, pneumonia, bronchitis, leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors and severe asthma problems. It is a known cause of lung cancer, heart disease, low birth weight, chronic lung ailments, as well as other eye & ear related health problems. It slows the growth of children’s lungs and brain. Babies of expectant mothers and newborn children are more vulnerable to the poisons in SECONDHAND SMOKE. It is estimated that more than 22 million children are at risk of reading defects because of SECONDHAND SMOKE. Higher levels of SECONDHAND SMOKE exposure also contribute to reasoning disorders among children. Living with a smoker and getting exposed to SECONDHAND SMOKE increases nonsmoker’s chances of developing tobacco related diseases by 27 percent.

Apart from massive health hazards it has also been found that children who are exposed to SECONDHAND SMOKE at home are two times more likely to start smoking than those not exposed and have positive thoughts about killer habits.

About 40 percent of all children are regularly exposed to SECONDHAND SMOKE at home. In India, annually six lacs premature deaths occur because of SECONDHAND SMOKE.  31 percent of these deaths attributable to secondhand smoking occur in children.    The primary source of passive smoking exposure for children is their own home, but children are also exposed to SECONDHAND SMOKE in school and other public places.

In order to warn people about deadly effects of SECONDHAND SMOKE on children a campaign ‘Tobacco is eating your baby alive’ has been launched by the Ministry of Health & Welfare. The campaign graphically and pictorially depicts how exposure to tobacco smoke can kill their kids?

WHO reports that there is no safe level of exposure to SECONDHAND SMOKE hence reducing would not be enough. We will have to completely stop it. But friends, no amount of campaigning would help stop SECONDHAND SMOKE if we are not determined to protect ourselves and our kids.  Let us maintain safe distance from smoking, smokers and the places of smoke. Especially, save kids and ladies from this poison and avoid committing a heinous crime and sin.
